The museum is located in the former Winter Palace, residence of the Tsars. The Hermitage is the largest museum in Russia and one of the largest in the world, with more than 3 million works of art. It has collections of sculpture and painting, glass and porcelain, tapestries and jewelry, prints, antiquities from the classical period, weapons, medals, coins, precious books. You will find a great collection of paintings from the Italian, Flemish, French and Spanish schools. In particular works of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Rembrandt, French impressionist, Gauguin, Matisse, Van Gogh, Picasso.
